FAQs

Pricing

Our pricing models are based on the number of hours required to give your small business or franchise a great set of books. Usually, the first 90 days are a getting to know your business phase and we charge by the hour. You will be given a quote up-front for the estimated hours, along with a list of the information we would need from you to get started.

Then, we will settle into a fixed monthly fee for the work that we perform. From a planning perspective, this pricing model is a win-win as we will have determined the recurring services you require from us, and you can more easily budget with a monthly set price.

Since we customize our bookkeeping support to each client, the scope of our services can vary dramatically from one client to another. We have clients who don’t want to touch QuickBooks with a 20-foot pole. They outsource the full range of bookkeeping services to us, and all they ask for is a set of financial reports once a month.

However, most of our clients outsource certain tasks to us and retain others. For instance, it is not uncommon for the client to retain control over the invoicing process, and delegate the rest of the bookkeeping functions to BearKat Bookkeeping.

For less than the cost of an in-house bookkeeper, BKB makes it possible for even the smallest business to have the same quality accounting services as a larger competitor. What’s more, you will not be required to host accounting software on your premise, which is a savings in itself!

Working together as a team with our small business and franchise clients, we have found the key to our great relationships is two-way, reciprocal communication. With this in mind, always feel free to contact us. We can discuss your unique business needs, answer all your questions, and ask some of our own to work towards giving you a pricing quote.

The words cloud, virtual, remote, and online are very flexible terms whose meanings may overlap. These terms are used interchangeably in correspondence and discussions. While you might say that cloud technology enables you to work remotely from home or anywhere, allowing you to make data entries and share documents as if you were in the office; you also could simply say you are working virtually, remotely, online, or in the cloud interchangeably. However, when it comes to Accounting Software there really is a difference in the options you have for Cloud Accounting.

First, the term Cloud Accounting usually implies the accounting software is not installed on your company computers or servers on-premise. In other words, it is not hosted “in-house” and so all application functions are performed off-site, not on the user’s desktop. So where is it installed? With QuickBooks, it depends on which version you have, the Online edition or the Desktop:

  1. QuickBooks Online (All Versions) Web based software that you connect to through your internet browser (like Chrome). Accessible anywhere with internet connection.

Work is done Cloud Based Online, automatically backed up on Intuit’s Servers.

  1. QuickBooks Desktop installed on a Cloud Server (All Versions) Same desktop software you would install in-house, however for Cloud Accounting it is installed on an offsite Dedicated Server by a Cloud Hosting Company. Accessible anywhere with internet connection used to remote in to dedicated server.

Work is done on Cloud Based Server, automatically backed up by hosting company.

QuickBooks is the top-rated industry standard for small business accounting software and there are advantages to both the Online and Desktop (hosted on cloud server) versions. The good news is that BearKat Bookkeeping works with both platforms, fully online and fully remote.

We would love to help you decide which cloud accounting platform is right for your small business or franchise based on your unique bookkeeping requirements. Contact us for a free consultation and we can discuss the best options for you!
